Track finishes outdoor season at Kentucky Invitational

The Murray State women’s track and field team competed in a two-day event at the Kentucky Invitational on Friday, April 30 – Saturday, May 1 in Lexington, Kentucky. The event ended the 2021 outdoor season for the Racers. 

Sophomore Kenia Seals competed in the sprints event, placing fourth in the 100-meter dash. Seals set a new personal record with a time of 11.63 seconds. Also, in the championship was senior Jabreuna Brimlett, who placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.66 seconds. 

Finishing at second place with a time of 45.42 seconds in the 4x100m relay were senior Jumiya Denning, freshman Teliyah James, sophomore Lucia Herrero Yanez and sophomore Kenia Seals. 

Finishing in fourth place was junior Zarra Humphry in the mid-distance 800-meter event with a new personal best time of 2:22.74. 

The Murray State women’s track and field team will compete in the OVC Outdoor Championships in Charleston, Illinois, on Thursday, May 13 – Saturday, May 15.
