Women’s golf competes at Bama Beach Bash

The Murray State women’s golf team placed seventh against 15 other teams at the Bama Beach Bash event in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on March 19-21. 

One of Murray State’s featured players, sophomore Ana Garcia Picchi, placed in the top-ten for the second time in her golf career. Picchi placed eighth with scores of 76-76-73225. Senior Raeysha Surendran carded 72-78-83233 and placed 32nd while junior Sarah Forsythe placed 36th with scores of 79-75-80234. Sophomore Payton Carter stroked a line of 83-80-76239 and placed 46th.

Fifteen players competed as individuals in the tournament.  Among these were freshman Emmie Erickson, who placed 32nd overall with scores of 77-75-81233 and graduate student Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria, who placed 46th with scores of 81-78-80239. 

The Murray State women’s golf team will compete next in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the Chattanooga Invitational at the Black Creek Golf Club on Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30.
