The Racer Restart Initiative released another update on Friday, June 26 regarding the upcoming fall semester.

One of the newest updates includes information about campus tours. The University plans to resume campus tours for families and students on July 13 in compliance with typical safety procedures. Virtual tours and one-on-one conferences via oom will also still be available.

President Bob Jackson reassured both new and incoming students of the great lengths the University is taking to make the fall semester as efficient and safe as possible.

“We are here for you,” Jackson said. “During these times, it is even more important that we fulfill our commitment to providing an educational experience that is recognized nationally.”

The national recognition the president mentioned came in the form of Forbes’ decision to name Murray State one of “America’s Best Colleges” for the 12th straight year. Other publications, such as Washington Monthly and U.S. News & World Report also continue to place Murray State on their respective lists of outstanding universities.

Murray State’s restart plan promised to maintain that quality by instituting an opportunity to learn in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. A combination of online and in-person class delivery is expected to be effective for on-campus students.

The University mentioned in a recent press release the importance of applying for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students and families who haven’t already completed the FAFSA are highly encouraged to do so as soon as possible at fafsa.ed.gov using the Murray State code: 001977.
