This summer, Murray State is kicking off the much-anticipated tour of its Racer Roadshow.

President Bob Jackson, Athletic Director Kevin Saal and Dunker will tour various locations throughout the region, hosting free events for each local area. Faculty, staff and students, including athletes, will make appearances as well.

There will be prizes and giveaways, including a chance for prospective and admitted students to win scholarships. Free hors d’oeuvres will be provided, as well as a cash bar for guests 21 and older.

“We’d like to personally invite you to spend an evening with us at a community near you,” Saal said in a Racer Roadshow YouTube video.

Racer Roadshow began on July 8, when it stopped in Mayfield. There are many upcoming tour locations that provide an opportunity for locals across the region to attend.

On July 9, Racer Roadshow will make an appearance in Hopkinsville from 4 to 6 p.m. and in Madisonville from 7 to 9 p.m. The Hopkinsville stop will be at the Hopkinsville Sportsplex on 155 Tilley Way, and the Madisonville event will be located at Crowded House Restaurant located at 26 W. Center Street.

Henderson will see the Racer Roadshow on July 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rookies Sports Bar and Grill located at 117 2nd Street. The event will be sponsored by Field & Main Bank.

On July 11, Racer Roadshow will stop in Paducah at Mellow Mushroom in the Coke plant on 3121 Broadway from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Owensboro celebration will be held at the International Bluegrass Museum on 311 W. 2nd Street from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

On July 16, Louisville will have its Racer Roadshow at the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, 704 Central Avenue. The event will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Nashville will have a Racer Roadshow appearance on July 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Nashville Zoo located at 3777 Nolensville Pike.

The final pit stop for the Racer Roadshow will be, of course, in Murray. The celebration will be held at Oakhurst, the President’s home located at 1510 Main Street, on July 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
