Racers fall to 3-4 at the hands of Kennesaw State

The Racers’ tennis team dropped its fourth game of the year against Kennesaw State when they lost the match 2-4.

Doubles started the day and Kennesaw State beat junior Anja Loncarevic and Sophomore Stasya Sharapova 4-6. Senior Amina Hadzic and junior Sara Loncarevic lost a close one in the third doubles spot 6-7. Junior Claire Chang and senior Jeanne Masson’s doubles set went unfinished at 5-5.

In singles, Chang got the Racers back on track when she won her match 6-2, 6-4. Senior Amina Hadzic got another win for the Racers in the fourth spot 7-5, 7-6.

The rest of the Murray State team didn’t fare as well, losing three singles matches with one going unfinished due to weather.

Sharapova lost a back-and-forth match 3-6, 6-2, 3-6. Sophomore Aarja Chakraborty put up a decent score in her singles match, losing quickly in the first set 2-6. Her second set was a better contest, but was unable to outplay her opponent losing 6-7. Masson wasn’t enough in her match, losing 2-6, 2-6.

The Racers will play its next set of matches at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, at the Kenlake Tennis Facility.
