Outstanding agriculture students honored at annual awards banquet

Story by Rhiannon Branch, Contributing writer

Over 40 awards were presented to Murray State agriculture students during the 41st annual Hutson School of Agriculture awards banquet on March 14.

There were 375 students, parents, faculty and guests who gathered in the Curris Center ballroom for the special presentation and a meal catered by Murray State dining services.

Professors and advisers gave remarks, including the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Tony Brannon.

“This effort was all about rewarding those students who have excelled in their programs, clubs and organizations,” Brannon said.  “We truly practice the ‘education is more than just a degree’ motto in the school and our faculty are very student oriented.  This banquet is a reward for all of our students and the capstone experience for those who have excelled. “
