Brad Paisley gives out scholarship

The country music star will be offering a scholarship to a student who attends Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., Paisley’s alma mater.

Paisley graduated from Belmont University in 1995 majoring in music business and minoring in business administration.

‘The Voice’ brings NBC higher ratings

With only one full season under its belt, NBC’s “The Voice” has brought in higher ratings for the network with its second season being well underway.

The show, which is in competition with “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars,” has upped its viewership to more than 36 percent over the last season, the Nielsen ratings company, said. 

Taylor Swift awarded by the first lady

Michelle Obama will present Taylor Swift with The Big Help award Saturday during Nickeldeon’s 25th annual awards show for Swift’s charity work.

The award is usually given to individuals who have made an impact with their charity work and have inspired others to do the same.

Swift is involved with many charaties including Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Medical Center and Habitat for Humanity.

Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees hospitalized

Robin Gibb of the band the Bee Gees and younger brother to Barry Gibb, is recovering in the hospital after intestinal surgery.

Gibb was hospitalized just last year for his stomach and colon problems. He was in the hospital to have a growth removed from his colon.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ votes off first star

Martina Navratilova was the first star voted off the 14th season of the “Dancing with the Stars.”

The tennis star was eliminated from the show Tuesday after coming into the results show in last place.

Navratilova said she gave it everything she had but knew they she had made mistakes during her routine on Monday.

Bobby Brown charged with a DUI

Bobby Brown was charged with drunk driving along with three other misdemeanor charges Wednesday, just two days after he was arrested in Los Angeles.

Brown will face two DUI counts and a charge for driving on a suspended license, Los Angeles city attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan said.

Aerosmith to release new album

Aerosmith has announced the release of a new album which is expected to drop in three months.

This will be the first album that the band has released since their 2004 album, “Honkin’ on Bobo.”

So far three track names have been released. The three track names are “Legendary Child,” “Beautiful” and “Out Go the Lights.”

The band has also announced the “Global Warming Tour” where they will have 18 stops along the way.

The tour will begin in Minneapolis, on June 16. Check out aerosmith.com for tour dates.
