Pending the Board of Regents’ approval, Adrienne King has accepted the offer for the position of vice president of Marketing and Outreach from President Bob Davies.

King’s position will be up for approval by the board at its quarterly meeting Aug. 28, and her first day at the University, if approved, will be Sept. 1, according to an email sent to the University community by Davies.

King serves as the director of Marketing and Communications at Idaho State and in assuming her position at Murray State, she will oversee Alumni Affairs and Community Relations, Development, Regional Outreach and Branding, Marketing and Communication.

“Murray State is an exceptional university with a great story to tell,” King said. “I look forward to working with the campus community as we craft the university’s story, sharing the great work of our alumni, faculty, staff and students. … I’m excited to be joining such a wonderful academic community.”

Davies expressed his appreciation to those who participated in forums and asked questions during the search as well as the search committee, which was chaired by Bob Jackson, president of the Murray State Foundation.

“King provides a wealth of experience to create a comprehensive marketing plan and has a talented background to lead alumni, development and outreach components,” Davies wrote. “We welcome Adrienne and her husband, Brad, to the finest place we know – Murray State.”
