Sophomore running back D.J. Penick drove home the two-yard touchdown run to tack on six more and seal the game for the Racers on Saturday night. The Racers advanced to 2-0 in OVC play for the first time since 2013.

The Murray State women’s volleyball team took down Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon, winning three consecutive sets and bringing the Racers back to .500 on the season.

Monday was the first official practice for the Murray State men’s basketball team. The Racers will take the court on Oct. 18 for the annual Racer Mania event in the CFSB Center.

D.J. Penick received OVC Football Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying 180 yards and scoring three touchdowns on Saturday night. This is the second week in a row a Racer player has received Player of the Week honors following Quincy Williams’ Defensive Player of the Week award last weekend.
