“Avengers: Infinity War” is finally out in theaters. To celebrate the occasion, here is a look at some of the upcoming movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that have been announced.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp”

Whether or not Ant-Man and the Wasp will have appearances in “Avengers: Infinity War” is yet to be seen by everyone. But even if they do not show up in that film, they will still have their own movie this year to make up for it. After being broken out of the Raft by Steve Rogers back in “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang struggles to live with the consequences of that incident while attempting to balance fatherhood with his superhero duties. While that is going on, Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne give Scott a new mission, causing Scott and Hope to team up as the crime-fighting duo: Ant Man and the Wasp. Along with most of the main cast from the first film returning, some new additions are brought in: Michelle Pfeiffer as Hank Pym’s long lost wife, Janet Van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster a.k.a. Goliath, Hannah John-Kamen as comic favorite Ghost and Walton Goggins as weapons designer Sonny Burch. “Ant Man and the Wasp” will be released on July 6, 2018.

“Captain Marvel”

“Captain Marvel,” the first female-led superhero film in the MCU, takes place in the 1990s and features Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. She is a military pilot who becomes one of the MCU’s most powerful superheroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a war between two alien races: the Kree and the Skrulls . Alongside costars Ben Mendelsohn and Jude Law, the film also sees the return of several familiar characters including Nick Fury, Agent Phil Coulson, Agent Maria Hill and “Guardians of the Galaxy” antagonists, Ronan the Accuser and Korath. “Captain Marvel” hits theaters on March 8, 2019.

Avengers 4

While “Avengers: Infinity War” is the culmination of everything the MCU has built up over the course of a decade, the fourth “Avengers” is meant to be the finale to all three previous phases of films. The plot is yet to be revealed, though on-set photos appear to show Captain America and Loki in their costumes from the first “Avengers” movie. Whether or not this is a flashback or time travel is yet to be seen. A title has yet to be released for this film, mainly due to the directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, explaining that revealing the title would be a spoiler for “Avengers: Infinity War.” This concluding chapter of the MCU is set to be released on May 3, 2019, unless Disney decides to release it a week early too.

Black Widow Solo Film

Finally, after so many years and so many delays, Black Widow is finally getting her own solo film. As of now, there is not a release date, a director or a cast. However, the film does have a writer, Jac Schaeffer.  He does not have many previous writing credits according to IMDB. Though interesting enough, Schaeffer’s most famous credit is for writing the screenplay of the infamous Disney short film, “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.” Of course, there is still a chance Schaeffer can write the best script possible for the Black Widow movie. Expect this film to be released sometime in the fourth phase of the MCU once that gets started.
