Scholars Week showcases student work this week

This week 94 students are presenting their work at Scholars Week in both the Curris Center and Fine Arts building.

Scholars Week is sponsored by The Office of Research and Creative Activity. ORCA Co-Coordinator AJ Boston said he is excited to see what students present this year.

“The overall increase in participations we see each year, for the past two to three years continues to be exciting,” Boston said. “I am most excited about the Interdisciplinary Showcase this year, because it will bring together four of our large, established panels for the first time I am aware of.”

Any student, no matter what major or level of experience, is able to participate in Scholars Week. The whole campus community has a chance to see the wide variety of presentations that Murray State students feel strong enough to present to a live audience.

“I like that Spring Scholars Weeks takes place just after All Campus Sing, because both are campus-wide celebrations of student preparation,” Boston said. “Scholars Week just happens to have a little less choreographed dancing than ACS.”

Boston said he is ready to explore the many presentations during Scholars Week and wants to the thank the many individuals that makes this event possible.

“Jeanie Robertson (Student-Teacher Portfolio coordinator), Dr. Maeve McCarthy (Sigma Xi Poster coordinator) and Dr. Marcia Hobbs (SNHP Dean and Nursing Posters Chair) are excellent collaborators, and I thank them for their strong efforts in making this all work successfully,” Boston said.
