Story by Ashley Traylor, Staff writer

Clint Combs wrapped up his last SGA meeting as president, and newly-elected SGA President, Tori Wood, was sworn into office.

Wood also announced Lucas Reck, who this year served as webmaster, as her chief of staff.

“Being able to serve the past couple years as student government president really has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Combs said. “I have been able to do what I love to do and that’s help represent the students and help make Murray State better.”

Renae Fister, senior presidential advisor of strategic initiatives, said the three candidates for provost will be on campus next week. She invited students to attend an open public forum for each candidate in Freed Curd Auditorium. The forums for each candidate  will be held:

  • Keith Hargrove- April 11 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Mark Arant- April 13 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Dennis Rome- April 18 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Adrienne King, vice president of university advancement, said the All Campus Give campaign will run from April 9 to April 12 and it is a campus-wide campaign to raise money for the Murray Fund for Excellence, which helps provide students with scholarships.

“Every gift counts,” King said. “I encourage you to give yourselves. I encourage you to talk to faculty and staff and encourage them to give.”
