POLICE BEAT 3-3-16

Feb. 24

2:23 p.m. A person reported a hit-and-run motor vehicle collision with injuries to Public Safety. Officers, Murray Police Department and Murray Ambulance Service were notified. An information report was taken and the incident was referred to Murray Police Department.

6:59 p.m. Officers received an attempt to locate in reference to an unauthorized use of vehicle in Marshall County, Kentucky. Officers were notified.

Feb. 25

12:14 a.m. A caller reported the smell of marijuana at Elizabeth Residential College. Officers were notified and a citation was issued for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

7:56 p.m. A caller reported a person receiving harassing communication at Springer Residential College. Officers were notified and an information report was taken.

Feb. 26

2:12 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at AutoZone. A citation was issued for failure to wear a seatbelt.

4:46 p.m. A caller reported the smell of marijuana at White Residential College. Officers were notified and a citation was issued for possession of marijuana.

Feb. 27

12:39 a.m. A caller reported the smell of marijuana at White Residential College. Officers were notified and an information report was taken.

12:57 p.m. A caller reported a disorderly customer at Winslow Dining Hall. Officers were notified and the person was arrested for disorderly conduct first degree and resisting arrest.

Feb. 28

2:17 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at Lowes Drive and 16th Street. A citation was issued for failure to maintain insurance, expired registration and no operator’s license in possession.

4:04 a.m. A caller requested a check of persons at the Roy Stewart Stadium parking lot. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested for DUI first offense, possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle and disregarding a traffic control device. The passenger was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Feb. 29

9:42 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at North 15th Street between Hester Residential College and Springer Residential College. The driver was arrested for resisting arrest, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, trafficking marijuana less than 8 ounces, fist offense, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, third offense. The driver was cited for numerous traffic violations.

2:39 p.m. A caller reported a possible intoxicated person at the Curris Center. Officers were notified and the person was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place.

March 1

10:58 a.m. A caller reported an intoxicated person at Woods Hall. Officers were notified and a citation was issued to the person for possession of marijuana and failure to appear after been served a warrant.

8:18 p.m. Murray Police Department reported a motor vehicle collision with no injuries in the Sorority Suites parking lot. Public Safety was notified and a collision report was taken.
