POLICE BEAT 2-25-16

Feb. 17

4:12 a.m. Public Safety received a general incident reporting form advising of a person receiving harassing communication at White Residential College.  Officers were notified and a report was taken.

5:08 a.m. A person reported dating violence to officers at White Residential College. A report was taken for 4th degree assault.

Feb. 18

9:39 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at the residential college circle south of James H. Richmond Residential College. A citation was issued for failure to wear a seatbelt and a verbal warning was issued for speeding.

10:39 a.m. A person reported theft of property at the Public Safety building. Officers were notified and a report was taken for theft by unlawful taking more than $500.

Feb. 19

8:33 a.m. An officer served a warrant for failure to appear in court at Hester Residential College. The person was arrested and a citation was issued for failure to appear in court.

1:48 p.m. A person reported being stuck on an elevator at Faculty Hall. Officers and Facilities Management were notified.

Feb. 20

1:10 a.m. A caller reported a medical emergency at Hart Residential College. Public Safety, Murray Ambulance Service and Student Affairs were notified. The patient was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

3:01 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at 16th Street at Campus Evolution. The driver was arrested and a citation was issued for driving under the influence.

Feb. 21

2:11 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Main Street at Jamison Apartments. A citation was issued for failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to notify the Department of Transportation of address change and failure to provide registration receipt.

10:52 p.m. A caller reported the smell of marijuana at Regents Residential College. Officers were notified and an information report was taken.

Feb. 22

7:07 a.m. Officers received information on an attempt to locate a person in reference to a runaway juvenile in Calloway County.

11:30 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at Five Points. A written warning was issued for disregarding a stop sign and failure to use a turn signal.

Feb. 23

3:04 p.m. Officers received a criminal mischief complaint via the LiveSafe app. A report was taken for criminal mischief in the third degree.

10:16 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at University Drive. A verbal warning was issued for failure to illuminate headlights.

Feb. 18, 7:25 a.m. Murray Police Department reported a calf out of the enclosure at North 16th and Diuguid Drive. Officers and the farm manager were notified. The calf was returned to the enclosure.
