POLICE BEAT 1-21-16

Jan. 13

1:26 a.m. Public Safety and Emergency Management reported an interior light on in a vehicle in the College Courts 700 block.  Public Safety attempted to contact the vehicle owner.

6:03 a.m. Public Safety received a fire trouble alarm in the College Courts 1200 block from the alarm center computer. Central Heating and Cooling were notified.

Jan. 14

12:39 p.m. Murray State experienced a campus-wide power outage. Public Safety and Facilities Management were notified.

10:21 p.m. Public Safety received an emergency call box activation in the residential college circle because of a mechanical malfunction.

Jan. 15

9:09 a.m. Public Safety received numerous fire alarm activations because of an electrical power outage across campus causing mechanical malfunctions. Public Safety and Facilities Management were notified.

6:41 p.m. A caller reported a possible medical emergency at the CFSB Center. Patient was uninjured and didn’t require emergency medical attention.

Jan.  16

9:59 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding near the intramural fields and a verbal warning was issued.

10:38 a.m. An officer reported an illegally parked vehicle at Alexander Hall. The owner was notified and the vehicle was moved.

Jan. 17

12:00 a.m. Racer Patrol reported several vehicles parked illegality in the fire lane at Faculty Hall. The owners of the vehicles were notified and the vehicles were moved.

10:26 a.m. Public Safety conducted a traffic stop in the Rite Aid parking lot for careless driving and a verbal warning was issued.

Jan. 18

12:40 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Regents Drive and a citation was issued for failure to wear a seatbelt.

11:37 p.m. Public Safety conducted parking enforcement in the residential college circle and seven parking citations were issued.

Jan. 19

10:35 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Waldrop Drive. A citation was issued for speeding 35 mph over the speed limit and for reckless driving.

12:43 p.m. A person reported being stuck on an elevator in the Oakley Applied Science Building. Public Safety and Facilities Management were notified.
