POLICE BEAT 10-9-15

Oct. 1

12:31 a.m. Public Safety and Emergency Management received a sprinkler tamper and fire trouble alert from the alarm center computer at the Equine Training Facility. Central Heating and Cooling was notified.

12:42 p.m. A caller reported a potential threat of fire at the CFSB Center. Central Heating and Cooling, officers and the State Fire Marshall were notified. No threat of fire was present upon Murray State Police Officers arrival.

Oct. 2

12:16 a.m. A caller reported the smell of marijuana at Elizabeth Residential College. A citation was issued for possession of marijuana.

3:19 p.m. Public Safety received notification of a fire alarm activation at Richmond Residential College on the alarm center computer. Officers and Central Heating and Cooling were notified. The fire alarm activation was due to a mechanical malfunction.

Oct. 3

10:53 a.m.  Officers conducted a traffic stop in the Immanuel Lutheran Church parking lot. A citation was issued for speeding.

12:21 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the Business Building North parking lot. A citation was issued for speeding 16 mph over.

Oct. 4

12:02 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted by officers at Jesse D. Jones Hall. A verbal warning was issued for improper driving.

8:37 p.m. Racer Patrol reported the smell of marijuana near White Residential College. Officers were notified and a citation for possession of marijuana was issued.

Oct. 5

8:33 a.m. Public Safety and Facilities Management received notice of a smoke detector activation in Hester Residential College. The smoke detector was activated by a resident using a hair straightener. No threat of fire was located.

1:49 p.m. A theft of less than $500 was reported in the Thoroughbred Room in the Curris Center. Officers took a theft report.

Oct. 6

12:05 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on 12th Street. A written warning was issued for disregarding a stop sign.

8:47 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted by officers on 16th Street. A citation was issued for failure to wear a seatbelt.

Oct. 7

2:49 p.m. A caller reported drug use in the Regents Residential College parking lot. Officers were notified.

11:38 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop by Clark Residential College for failure to turn on headlights. A written warning was issued.

Call of Fame

10:43 p.m. Public Safety received a notice of a fire alarm activation in the CFSB Center. Officers, the Murray Fire Department and Central Heating and Cooling were notified. The fire alarm activation was due to a mechanical malfunction.
