April 23

10:40 a.m. A person reported the smell of marijuana at Hester Residential College. The police were notified and a report was taken.

10:47 a.m. A person reported the smell of marijuana at White Residential College. The police were notified and a report was taken.

April 24

2:07 a.m. A caller reported an intoxicated person on North 16th Street. The police were notified and a report was taken.

1:46 p.m. A caller reported a person on a skateboard at the Curris Center. The police were notified and the person was warned of the University skateboard policy.

April 25

12:05 a.m. A fire alarm in Hester was activated. The police and the Central Heating and Cooling plant were notified. The alarm was due to a hair straightener setting off a smoke detector. A report was taken.

8:33 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Gilbert Graves Drive. A citation was issued for speeding, no operator’s license and no proof of insurance.

April 26

8:57 a.m. The police served a warrant on Brooklyn Drive. The person was arrested and taken to the Calloway County Jail.

9:52 a.m. An officer conducted parking enforcement at the residential circle. Twelve parking citations were issued.

April 27

11:56 a.m. A caller reported theft of property at the Price Doyle Fine Arts building. The police were notified and a report was taken for theft by unlawful taking of more than $500. The property was located and returned to the owner.

6:37 p.m. A caller reported the smell of something burning at Lee Clark Residential College. The police were notified and the smell was determined to be from the burning of incense. No threat of fire was located. A report was taken.

April 28

12:19 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at the parking lot of White. A verbal warning was issued for disregarding a stop sign and driving on an expired permit.

11:16 a.m. A person was served a criminal summons for theft by deception of under $500 and a warrant of arrest for fraudulent use of a credit card for $10,000 or more.

April 29

5:15 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop south of Hester. A citation was issued for disregarding a stop sign. The person was arrested for an active warrant and taken to the Calloway County Jail.

8:28 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at the parking lot on Waldrop Drive. A citation was issued for an improper start from a parked position. A verbal warning was issued for failure to maintain insurance.

Call of Fame

April 27, 7:22 p.m. – A caller reported people yelling obscenities at children at the Price Doyle Fine Arts building. The police were notified but the people were gone upon arrival.
