POLICE BEAT 3-12-15

March 5

7:51 p.m. The Murray Police Department reported that a person smelled smoke at the Price Doyle Fine Arts Complex. Officers, Central Heating and Cooling Plant and Murray Fire Department were notified. It was determined the smell was coming from a damaged electrical box outside and away from the building.

10:39 p.m. A caller from Hart Residential College reported a medical emergency. Officers, Murray Ambulance Services and Student Affairs were notified. The person was transported by EMS.

March 6

11:24 a.m. A caller requested for the CFSB Center to be unlocked so they could retrieve property. Officers and the building coordinator were notified. The building was unlocked and then secured.

8:37 p.m. A caller from College Courts 700 block reported smelling marijuana. Officers were notified. An information report was taken.

March 7

12:44 p.m. Officers reported a vehicle parked in the dorm circle with its trunk open. The owner was notified.

8:38 p.m. Racer Patrol advised of an unlocked door at Facilities Management. Officers and the building coordinator were notified. The door was locked and the building secured.

March 8

5:25 p.m. A caller from College Courts 700 block reported a parking complaint. Officers were notified and five parking citations were issued.

10:03 p.m. Racer Patrol advised of a suspicious vehicle in the Roy Stewart Stadium parking lot. Officers were notified.

March 9

7:46 a.m. Officers reported unauthorized people in the Hamilton Field parking lot. Officers asked the unauthorized people to leave Murray State property.

11:37 a.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle in the road on 16th Street. Officers were notified.

March 10

1:24 p.m. An officer advised Public Safety of a vehicle with the headlights left on. The owner was notified.

4:03 p.m. A caller from Franklin Residential College requested to speak with an officer about being harassed. Officers were notified and a report was taken.

Call of Fame

March 8, 1:36 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in Tumbleweed’s parking lot. Burl’s Wrecker Service was notified. Multiple citations were issued to the person. The driver was then arrested and taken to the Calloway County jail.
