Touchdowns, tackles and celebratory handshakes. Whether students watch the Super Bowl for the game or the commercials, food options are an important factor for any Super Bowl gathering. Whether you are entertaining a few friends or a cramped apartment full of people, here are some helpful recipes to ensure everyone is feeling satisfied by kick-off.

 wingsTraditional: Glazed boneless wings

Guests can choose from regular or boneless chicken wings and celery sticks for serving options. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, place wings on a baking sheet and glaze with favorite BBQ sauce or a special mixture of honey, soy sauce and BBQ sauce. Place in the oven, and in 25-30 minutes wings come out blazing hot and ready. Guests may also dip wings in blue cheese or ranch.

Mini beef weenies wrapped in small portions of crescent rolls is an on-the-go take of the traditional game-day hotdog. Simply wrap the mini weenies in the crescent roll dough while preheating the oven to 375 degrees. For added flavor, throw on a slice of cheese. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until bread rises. Guests may find ketchup and mustard appealing for dipping.

For a healthier option, spread two cans of crescent rolls into a 9 by 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes for a crispy crust. Whip up a batch of sauce using one cup of cream cheese, one cup of mayo and one package of dry ranch dressing mix. Spread across crust and add desired vegetables to the top such as carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and onions. Chill until game time.

Get the best of both worlds with chocolate chip cookie bars. There are many ingredients, and the sweet tooth at the party will appreciate the extra effort. Add one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of baking soda. Gradually add two cups of flour and stir in chocolate chips. Pour in a greased pan and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.

Grab a bag of Doritos or tortilla chips and commence dipping into a cheesy heaven. With a package of velveeta cheese cut into cubes and a jar of Rotel undrained tomatoes and green chillies, all the guesswork is gone. Combine the two in a bowl and microwave for five minutes, stirring occasionally until cheese is melted.
