Boat Show in Murray

The University will host the annual West Kentucky Boat & Outdoor Show this weekend at the CFSB Center.

This event will feature a large variety of activities that can be enjoyed by a wide variety of people. There will be a substantial showcase highlighting several vehicles for the outdoor enthusiast including boats, ATVs, trucks, and RVs. The show will also incorporate a Kid’s Area and a women’s area stationed on the upper balcony of the CFSB Center.

The kid’s area will be accentuated by multiple inflatables and other forms of entertainment. Several vendors will be garrisoned in the Women’s Area such as Pampered Chef, Scentsy, and Tupperware, as well as products including cosmetics, jewelry, and other accessories.

The show will also allow an array of different speakers and professionals in the outdoor recreational industry. These seminars will be hosted by professional fishermen, fishing guides, and experts on Kentucky Lake aquatic wildlife. These presentations are designed for the outdoor enthusiast who wishes to sharpen his or her skill set or simply obtain more knowledge and information about a specific topic.

Last year, the Boat Show enticed more than 6,000 guests, but event organizers hope to attract even more guests this weekend to the three-day exposition which offers free admission.

As the only boat and outdoor show in the region, it allows outdoor enthusiasts an opportunity to get excited about the approaching seasons and a chance to begin preparing for their future outdoor endeavors by seeing everything the West Kentucky Boat & Outdoor Show has to offer. For some, this may mean a new fishing boat or four-wheeler and for others, it may be a few new fishing lures for their tackle box or some information about fish taxidermy.

The University will also be represented by the Murray State Bass Team on the upper level of the CFSB Center. Bass fishing teams from local high schools such as Calloway, Marshall, and Trigg counties will also be present at the exposition to accept voluntary contributions and donations to their programs.

This event will be held in the CFSB Center on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
