Lambda Chi earn softball win

Lambda Chi took the field against Pi Kappa Alpha Monday in hopes of claiming an intramural softball victory.

Lambda Chi had a solid first inning with three quick outs on defense before scoring three early runs on four hits and a walk. That score held until the third inning when Pike started an unexpected comeback.

With four strong hits and a walk, Pike was able to even the score at three runs each

In the bottom of the third, Lambda Chi sent a runner home on an error by Pike’s third baseman, putting them ahead 4-3.

Pike answered quickly in the top of the fourth with two hard hits to put runners on base. A pop-up to left field led to another run for Pike, evening the score once more.

However, Lambda Chi was able to stretch out the bottom of the fourth inning with the help of five infield errors from Pike. With eight hits, Lambda Chi was able to gain a comfortable lead of 10-4.

Pike was able to answer once more in the 6th inning with one run on two hits, but a pop fly to left field ended the game.

Lambda Chi earned 18 hits, while Pike could only deliver 12.
