Career Services schedules fall events for students

Murray State Career Services has announced its Fall 2013 events schedule.

Job Search Training and Planning workshop series: Oct. 1–3. Six workshops are offered three times so students can attend needed sessions that fit their schedules. Workshop topics include résumé and cover letter writing, interview strategies, business and meal etiquette, job search resources and strategies, networking and personal branding, and how to work a career fair. Reverse Career Fair: Oct. 15. Student professional organizations and honor societies are invited to set up a booth while employers browse to network with Murray students. Participants must dress professionally and bring copies of their résumés.

All Majors Career Fair: Oct. 16. Regional and national employers and graduate program representatives will attend the fall Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the third floor of the Curris Center. They are recruiting undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines. Students are encouraged to review the list of participating organizations and prepare to network with employers prior to attending via their Racer Tracks account. Participants must dress professionally and bring copies of their résumés.

Teacher Fair: Nov. 8. Education majors are invited to attend this networking event from 9 a.m. to noon on the third floor of the Curris Center. A list of participating schools and districts is available via students’ Racer Tracks account. Participants must dress professionally and bring copies of their résumés.

Career services is located in 100 Oakley Applied Science and staff are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
