Motorists are advised to use caution along the U.S. 641 in Marshall County near the intersection with KY 58/Mayfield Highway. Motorists in this area have encountered some type of oil or diesel fuel spilled on the roadway that has created hazardous driving conditions. There have been a number of minor fender-benders in this area.
This is on U.S. 641 just off Purchase Parkway Exit 41 near Benton.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Marshall County Highway Crew is spreading absorbent material along the U.S. 641. At this time deputies are still trying to determine where the oil slick started and how far it might extend.
Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in the area for the next two hours.
