Brockman, Tomlin to play on Stars Team

 

Murray State quarterback Casey Brockman and offensive lineman Roderick Tomlin will team up one more time as the duo will be members of the Stars Team at the inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic on Jan. 19. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. and can be seen live on CBS Sports Network.

Brockman closed out his record-setting career as the school’s all-time leader in attempts (1,405), completions (938), yards (9,990), touchdowns (71) and total offense (10,519).

This past season, Brockman went 359-for-517 for 3,729 yards and 28 touchdowns on his way to finishing sixth in the voting for the Walter Payton Award. He set new school records for attempts, completions, yards and touchdowns, while setting new OVC records for attempts and completions. He tossed for at least 300 yards in seven games, including going over 400 yards four times. He threw at least two touchdown passes in eight of the 11 games.

Tomlin is playing in his second all-star game in as many weeks after playing in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game on Jan. 11. Tomlin started the final 37 games of his collegiate career, including the final 33 at right tackle. He was honored as a Second-Team All-OVC selection following the 2012 season. He graded out at 90-percent on the season and blocked for one of the top passing and scoring offenses in the FCS. He helped pave the way for a 284 yard rushing game against Tennessee State.
