Lavender Blond: Fashion Collaborations

Maison Martin Margiela with H&M

Being a fashion loving college student, I’m always looking for a great deal on trendy clothes. I love high end clothing but it usually just happens to be thousands of dollars out of my price range. This is what makes collaborations so great. When high end designers collaborate with department stores you get to look and feel luxe without going completely broke. Here are the two collaborations that I am currently ecstatic about.

The first is Maison Martin Margiela for H&M. This collection was released November 15 and sold quickly out of these sporty sneakers. Margiela will be offering H&M all the quirky cool ensembles it sells at its own luxury boutiques such as faceless watches and candy wrapper clutches at just a fraction of the costs. With a little more than 100 pieces, this collection is all about being polished and clean but far from boring. The exaggerated sleeves and draping keep the pieces interesting, while remaining incredibly versatile. Here’s the launch video of the collection.

Next, we have Neiman Marcus for Target. This collab is anything but ordinary. Unlike most department store collaborations, this is unique in that there are so many various products! Gifts from a variety of designers like Proenza Schouler, Oscar de la Renta, and Alice + Olivia will line the shelves. Rag & Bone shot glasses and a Tory Burch lunch box, makes this alliance worth waiting in line for. For the full price list visit Target. If you haven’t begun your Holiday Shopping yet, these unique collaborations are worth checking out.
