Murray State Police report robbery, assault

At approximately 10 p.m., on September 7, the Murray State Police Department received a report of a robbery. The victim was assaulted, and also had some items taken in the area of Hester College. The two suspects are described as African-American males, approximately 6’0″. One of the assailants was wearing a red hat, black backpack and gold chain.

Murray State community members are reminded to be aware of their surroundings at all times and to take necessary safety precautions. Officers have increased patrol around the residential colleges.

UPDATE – One suspect is in custody.  The Murray State Police have information that the other suspect has left the area.

The News attempted to contact Public Safety regarding Friday night’s incident, but officers said no further information was available. Several patrol cars have spent the early morning hours around the residential colleges across campus, but no reports of suspects in custody have been made.
