Dressler appointed informational director of Granville Bantock Society

Murray State professor of humanities and fine arts, John Dressler, has recently been appointed at the informational director of the Granville Bantock Society.

Granville Bantock was a British composer of classical music. He was born in London, England in 1868 and died in 1946.

Dressler, as informational director, will will receive all inquiries about Bantock and his music from international society members. He will be the first step in answering questions about Bantock’s life and music. Dressler will also act as an assistant to the editor of the Journal of the Granville Bantock Society.

The society’s mission is to promote the life and music of Bantock. They oversee the publishing and recording of unpublished and unrecorded works, as well as archiving Bantock family-related materials. Their purpose is to celebrate Bantock’s life and broaden society’s knowledge of his talent.
