Alliance held its weekly meeting Sunday night in the Curris Center with discussion about the profits from the March 1 drag show.

President Will Heath said the group made record profits with the final earnings being $2,103.18.

The annual Day of Silence will be April 20. Alliance members will be handing out informational brochures and pamphlets about the Day of Silence from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Curris Center. The Day of Silence is the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s annual day of protest against bullying of LGBT students and their allies.

The group will participate in a clean streets day on April 7 where they clean the streets of Calloway County. Each member participating will earn $6 a person an hour. The money will help the Alliance pay for various activities they put on throughout the semester.

Public Safety will be coming to speak the Alliance’s general assembly meeting.

Nominations for Alliance president for the 2012-13 school year will be on March 25 and April 1 will be the final election.

The meeting closed with general assembly meeting discussing the upcoming elections for Alliance officers.
