Alliance held its weekly meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Curris Center.

Group President William Heath invited all general assembly members to the President Randy Dunn’s reception at 5 p.m. on Feb. 22 at Oakhurst.

The annual Day of Silence will be April 20. Alliance members will be handing out informational brochures and pamphlets about the Day of Silence from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Curris Center. The Day of Silence is the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s annual day of protest against bullying of LGBT students and their allies.

Fame Monster, the drag show, is the group’s largest fundraiser and will be at 7 p.m. on March 1 in the large ballroom in the Curris Center.

Heath said the group is also participating in a work days on March 3 and April 7 where they clean the streets of Calloway County. Each member participating will earn $6 per hour. The money will help Alliance pay for various activities they put on throughout the semester.

The meeting closed with general assembly members signing up for drag show positions.
